Fourth of July
Over Fourth of July weekend our wonderful friends, Libby and Lincoln came home to Minnesota with their new son they recently adopted from Ethiopia. It was a day of introductions. Cassidy got to meet her godparents and we all got to meet sweet TJ.

It was a beautiful Minnesota day and the kids (big and little) got into the water toys. This picture made me laugh, poor Taylor was getting teamed up on by the daddies and TJ!
Cassie taking in all the action with her fabulous hair, gotta love humidity!
This cracked me up. Libby LOVES Fourth of July. It's "her" holiday and likes to go all out. We feel honored that they invite us over every year to partake in the festivities. Early on, she did some fun smaller fireworks in the driveway. Taylor wasn't too keen and wanted to hide behind daddy. This picture just is what resulted:

Danbury June 25-29
Looks like I am getting behind again! What on earth could be filling up those hours I used to spend studying?? Hm.
At the end of June, we got to go on our annual summer trip to my aunt and uncle's cabin in Danbury, WI. It was so fun to bring Cassie with too. We think that in the history of family gatherings up there, Cassie is the youngest (at 3 weeks) to make the trek. It was especially nice because I stayed up with the girls for an extra couple of days (with my mom's help) since I was on maternity leave. SO nice. Al's mom also was able to come up for the weekend. She had heard so much about our cabin weekends and we're so glad she chose this weekend (and wait to see her newest granddaughter for a few weeks) so she could finally partake. I think she's glad she did!
To start off the weekend though, we had a birthday celebration for yours truly. The big 3-2! Per tradition, we gathered at my parent's house with my godparents and special guest, Dale (Al's mom) for my favorite meal of Beef Burgundy and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Yum!
Sweet pictures of the girls in their first matching outfit. I'm sure there will be many more matching outfits to come. As long as they are young enough to not care anyway!

Taylor getting some play time in before the sun came out.
Cassidy hanging out with great-grandchild #21, Hazel. Hazel was born in March of this year.
Some more of the great-grandchildren. Princess Annika, Mia, Benaysay and Taylor with Prince Frankie. It was so cute to have some the younger great-grandkids up there this time. So many generations have enjoyed cabin time in Danbury!
Breakfast time:
Hanging out with cousin Benaysay on the porch. These two really bonded over the weekend. It was nice they had each other since all the other younger kids left Sunday.
Beach time:
Snack time:
Followed up with more beach/water time. It was beautiful everyday and we spent most of our time down at the water.
One of the boat toys is a huge inflatable shoe. Taylor just liked hanging out in it while on shore. She, Cassie and I even took a nap in it one day. All the rules change when you're on vacation!
